A man who killed his own mother and reportedly drank her blood, has been nabbed after some weeks on the run.
A man suspected to be a cannibal vampire who went on the run after killing his mum, has been nabbed.
The young man went on the run after being accused of drinking his dying mum’s blood after butchering her with an axe.
Dilip Yadav, 27, is said to have then hacked his mother’s body into bits before tossing them on to a fire at their home in Korba, India.
Yadav reportedly attacked Sumariya, 50, after blaming her for wrecking his marriage.
He has now been nabbed after being found in a relative’s house three weeks after he went on the run.
The man is said to have also branded his mother a witch who caused the early deaths of his dad and brother, according to reports.
Sumariya’s neighbour said she cowered in fear for her own life as she watched the gruesome bloodbath unfold.
“I was shivering in terror and pressed myself against a wall as this beastly act was going on,” shocked Samiran Yadav told police.
The neighbour who coincidentally shares the family name said she crept close to their house after hearing “strange noises” on a visit to Sumariya.
She froze in horror as she watched Yadav bludgeoning his mother on the head, neck and breasts with a hatchet, she told police.
Then he started licking blood oozing from Sumariya’s wounds as she took her last breaths, according to the neighbour.
Yadav reportedly took her body inside their home and chopped it into small pieces before throwing them into a fire.
Samiran then fled to her home but could not raise enough courage to tell anyone about the New Year’s Eve orgy of violence until now, she said.
It was finally reported to police as an “incident of cannibalisation,” reports the Times of India.
Forensic experts are said to have found ashes and charred bones at the “house of horrors” along with splatters of blood all over the walls and floor.
Officers also recovered chunks of human flesh.
They believe Yadav killed his mother as a human sacrifice after finding black magic and tantra books.
Neighbours claimed he was was heavily influenced by tantric practices and often spoke about human sacrifices.
Police officer Jaiprakash Badhai admitted colleagues were stunned when Samiran turned up at their station at Chaitma to report cannibalism.
A widespread hunt is on for Yadav after he disappeared from the area.
