Wan-Bissaka Is Perfect For Manchester United – Coach Who Discovered Him

Colin Omogbehin, who founded South London club Junior Elite and coached Crystal Palace U-16s, has revealed that the right-back would fit in perfectly at Manchester United.

Crystal Palace star Aaron Wan-Bissaka would be perfect for Manchester United, according to the man who discovered him. Colin Omogbehin founded South London club Junior Elite, where the Crystal Palace defender started out. He was also the Eagles’ Under-16s boss back then – and brought an 11-year-old Wan-Bissaka to the club.

All the Premier League’s big guns are now chasing the attacking right-back. Yet Omogbehin, now Fulham U-18s head coach, reckons United would be the best fit. The youth development guru said: “I look at Manchester United who are on the up. They have a youngish squad and he’d fit into the way they want to play. In Ole Gunnar Solskjaer there is a good young boss who has a history of dealing with young players. When Ole retired from playing he worked with United’s younger squads, so will know how to bring through players of Aaron’s type. That would be perfect for him. He’d play every week – or certainly get a lot of games to keep developing.”

Omogbehin remembers Wan-Bissaka as a shy kid who barely said a word but came alive on the pitch. But he added: “The thing I am surprised about is he ended up as a right-back. I always thought he’d end up as an attacking player.”
