2023 : Labour Party Inaugurates Presidential Campaign Committee In Anambra

The Labour Party in Anambra State has inaugurated a nine hundred member Presidential Campaign Committee for Peter Obi and his running mate, Senator Ahmed Baba Datti, with a charge on them to canvass for votes aggressively in order to actualize their bid.

The inauguration ceremony, which took place in Awka drew political stalwarts, present and past office holders, lawmakers, aspirants and chieftains of other political parties in the state.

Performing the ceremony, The South East Zonal Coordinatorof the Presidential Campaign Committee, Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene, asked the committee members to see their appointment as a privilege to serve as foot soldiers that will take the message of delivering Peter Obi down to the grassroots.

Chief Okeke-Ogene, who is the National Vice President of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worlwide, said that time has come for other ethnic groups to support Obi’s quest for presidency as a payback time for the massive support Ndigbo gave to other tribes in authority.

Contributing, the State Coordinator of the Presidential Campaign Committee, Chief Joe-Martins Uzodike, highlighted sterling leadership qualities of the Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and assured Nigerians that he will never disappoint if elected.

He further urged the newly appointed campaign committee members to be alive with their new responsibility by swinging into action of mobilizing the masses in Anambra State to vote rightly as the lead state for Peter Obi.

In his remark, the State Chairman the campaign committee, Chief Ugochukwu Emeh, described Peter Obi’s political ambition as a movement, and promised that his team must deliver.

On his part, the Secretary of the committee, said that the massive support for Obi was on account of his integrity, character, competence and experience, which he said the country requires for better leadership.

Earlier, the Chairman of Elders Council of the campaign committee, Retired Justice Paul Obidigwe, said that Peter Obi’s Presidential bid should be seen as a project for Ndi Anambra, and urged all hands to be on deck in making his ambition a reality.
