HURIWA, the Human Rights writers association on Tuesday, September 13, advised the president of Nigeria to order security agencies to immediately go after the minister of labor and employment due to the statement he made about Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the labor party.
The statement of HURIWA is coming after Festus Keyamo alleged that the candidate of the labor party made some statements in other to promote his presidential ambition and get the pity votes of Nigeria to win the forthcoming presidential election.
Peter Obi had earlier revealed that he was told by his friends that some individuals might try to hurt or assassinate him due to his popularity ahead of the forthcoming polls. The statement of Peter Obi was later dismissed by a member of the APC and the presidential spokesman of Bola Tinubu.
Keyamo in his response insisted that the labor party candidate might be trying to lie to members of the public but a few hours after he made the statement, the APC member has been attacked for allegedly trying to dismiss a sensitive issue made by Peter Obi.
According to a report from Daily Post, the coordinator of HURIWA, Emmanuel Onwubiko has joined the list of those who have sent a message to Festus Keyamo, the minister of labor and employment. The group insisted that Peter Obi could not have made false claims about his life due to the presidential election coming up in 2023.
