2023: We Are Going To Have An INEC Declared Winner If INEC Fails To Show Us How Tinubu Won- Okonkwo

Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be sworn in as president of Nigeria in just seven days after being named the winner of the 2023 presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Atiku Abubakar of the PDP and Peter Obi of the Labour Party are suing him over his victory.

Kenneth Okonkwo, one of Peter Obi’s attorneys, recently posted a link to a column he wrote for The Sun Newspaper in which he spoke in-depth on the 2023 Presidential Election and its aftermath.

According to Kenneth Okonkwo, Tinubu fell short of the constitutional minimum in the FCT since he failed to secure a total of 25% of the vote in Abuja. He claimed that the purpose of the intentional flouting of the electoral laws, the constitution, and INEC rules and regulations was to undermine the will of the people. According to Kenneth Okonkwo, history has proved that people will not support a government in its administration if it does not derive its power from the people’s will.

He added that if a new administration is sworn in on May 29 without INEC releasing proof to back up its designation of Tinubu as the election’s winner, it will be an INEC announced winner rather than a President who was voted by the people of Nigeria.

In his argument, Kenneth Okonkwo urges INEC to show Nigerians how Tinubu won the poll and was proclaimed the victor by offering proof of that outcome.
