The Ekiti State Government has commenced an aerial mapping exercise across the state, aimed at improving land administration, urban planning, and infrastructure development.

The exercise, which began on Sunday, 20th April 2025, is expected to run until December 2025. It forms part of the state’s broader strategy to obtain accurate geospatial data to guide policy-making, reduce land-related disputes, and foster investor confidence in the state’s real estate and infrastructure sectors.

A statement that was posted on the state government’s official X page on Sunday read,  “This exercise is  a strategic initiative designed to enhance land administration, support efficient town planning, guide infrastructure development, and provide accurate geospatial data to inform government policies and decision-making. It will also help to reduce land-related disputes, promote transparency in land transactions, and boost investor confidence in Ekiti’s real estate and infrastructure sectors.

Residents are strongly advised not to panic upon sighting low-flying aircraft, as the operation is entirely safe and officially authorised. We appeal for the cooperation and understanding of all citizens throughout the duration of the exercise.”
