BREAKING: Uche Agbo Joins DGN Presidency Race

Popular filmmaker and mentor, Uche Agbo, has thrown his hat into the ring for the presidency of the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN).
With a campaign focused on reform, innovation, and inclusivity, Agbo aims to bring transformative leadership to the Guild if elected.
He made his intentions known in a letter addressed to DGN members, where he also promised to move the Guild from a personality-driven association to a system-governed institution, rooted in transparency and sustainability.
“When you give me the mandate to serve the Guild, you can hold me accountable to these promises over the next two years,” Agbo wrote.
Agbo’s campaign promises include establishing DGN National Policy Advisory Council to reflect on the Guild’s 25-year legacy and charting a visionary course for the next 25 years.
He also intends to strengthen mentorship pipelines, supporting upcoming directors as well as advocating for stronger legal protections and ensuring fair contracts, and protections for members.
Furthermore, he intends to open doors to international co-productions for DGN members in addition to creating a culture where every member feels seen, heard, and valued.
