Thwe chairman, Abia State House of Assembly Committee on Environment and Urban Renewal, Kalu Mba Nwoke has lauded the state governor, Alex Otti for prioritising infrastructure development in the state.

Nwoke spoke with LEADERSHIP Sunday yesterday while inspecting the ongoing reconstruction of Asaga-Amuke Road and an abandoned bridge project in Ohafia local government area.

“This is a clear indication and testimony of a leader who came prepared to serve. This is also a leader with vision and one who understands the reason for being in government,” he said.

The member representing Ohafia South constituency further noted that with the quality of work so far executed, he was convinced that the job would stand the test of time.

He noted that until the intervention, the less than two-kilometre road had become a nightmare even when the people pleaded endlessly to the previous administrations to fix it to no avail.

“Having said this, I think the people’s response to this magnanimity should not only be to laud the governor, but also to sustain their support for him and his administration,” he added.

Also, a leader in the community, Iro Onum Ndukwe, described the governor’s achievements in about two years as unprecedented in the history of the state and wished him well.

A house wife, Mabel Okoro, expressed appreciation to the governor “for the work on the long-abandoned road and bridge. The people are anxiously waiting for 2027 to tell Otti how much we love and appreciate him.”

Similarly, a student of the oldest secondary school in the community, which is along the road, Onyedikachi Eke, noted “how bad the road had been over the years” and thanked Otti for the job.
