The family of Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, a prominent chieftain of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has dismissed widespread rumours suggesting he has passed away, describing them as false, malicious, and deeply regrettable.

In an official statement released on Sunday, the Isiguzoro family affirmed that Mazi Isiguzoro is not only alive but also recovering well in a private location outside France.

The family denounced the claim that he was receiving treatment at Hospital Ranguiel Toulouse or had died, calling it a “fabricated narrative” spread by enemies of progress.

“We categorically condemn the unfounded rumours about our son’s health. Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro is alive, and he is recovering,” the statement noted.

The release, signed by family spokesman Dr. Chiedozie Isiguzoro and the traditional head of the family, Nze Eze Isiguzoro, condemned what they described as a campaign of envy and character assassination.

In a defiant tone, the family declared that Mazi Isiguzoro would “attend the memorial services” of those responsible for the falsehoods, vowing to sign their condolence registers as a symbolic gesture of moral superiority over their treachery.

The statement read: “This is a warning to those behind the malicious propaganda.

“Further attempts to tarnish the image of our son will attract full legal consequences. The Isiguzoro family will not sit idly while our name is dragged through the mud.”

The family also extended heartfelt appreciation to members of the Igbo community and other well-wishers who reached out during the period of the rumour, offering prayers and support.

“We thank everyone who stood with us against this wave of falsehood. Your support has been a source of strength,” the statement concluded.
