In a major step toward regional climate innovation, Nigerian climate-tech firm, Netzence Sustainability Limited, has officially launched its Ghana operations, with a strong focus on real-time carbon emission tracking and sustainability partnerships across West Africa.

The new regional office, located in Osu, Accra, marks Netzence’s first major expansion outside Nigeria and is expected to serve as a catalyst for clean energy solutions, youth-driven innovation, and climate technology deployment in the sub-region.

Speaking on the development, chief operating officer of Netzence,  Idia Okundaye, said the company’s expansion into Ghana is part of its broader mission to accelerate Africa’s transition to a net-zero future.

“Africa’s climate challenges demand collaborative, homegrown solutions,” she said.

“Our presence in Ghana is not just symbolic — it’s a bold commitment to deepening regional partnerships and scaling technology-led climate action across West Africa.”

Okundaye noted that the Ghana hub will focus on three key pillars: carbon monitoring technology, clean energy partnerships, and capacity development. She revealed plans to deploy Netzence’s proprietary real-time emission tracking systems and work closely with local organisations such as the Ghana Clean Cook Organisation.

She added that the office will also replicate Nigeria’s successful GreenTech Accelerator and training initiatives to empower local startups, professionals, and youth innovators in Ghana.

“Ghana’s progressive climate policies and vibrant innovation ecosystem make it an ideal base for our West African operations,” she said. “We see immense potential to build a new generation of African climate leaders.”

The company’s entry into Ghana comes on the back of several major milestones, including the receipt of Nigeria’s Presidential Award in Innovation & Sustainability and a partnership with EHCON to deploy over 9,000 emission monitoring devices. Netzence has also successfully facilitated carbon credit monetisation for key Nigerian firms like Mainstream Energy Solutions.

The Ghana launch was commemorated with stakeholder engagements, youth innovation challenges, and climate tech showcases throughout April 2025.

Founded in Nigeria, Netzence Sustainability Limited has emerged as a leading climate-tech force on the continent, known for its bold application of technology to address carbon emissions, promote clean energy, and create economic opportunities through sustainability.

With the new Ghana hub, the company says it is ready to build a West African climate ecosystem that is both locally led and globally relevant.
