Kano Assembly Welcomes Two New Legislators Following Successful By-Elections

The Kano State House of Assembly on Tuesday swore in two newly elected lawmakers who won their seats in recent by-elections across the state.

The Speaker of the House, Jibril Isma’il Falgore, presided over the ceremony, which formally welcomed Sa’adu Aminu Sa’adu, representing Ungogo constituency, and Nabil Aliyu Sarki Daneji, representing Kano Municipal constituency.

Both lawmakers contested and won their seats under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Their victories followed by-elections held to fill vacancies created by the deaths of their fathers in December last year.

The elections were conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as part of supplementary polls in the affected constituencies.

After taking the oath of office, Sa’adu expressed gratitude to his constituents in Ungogo for granting him the mandate to represent them.

“I will work tirelessly for the progress of Ungogo and defend the interests of the people who entrusted me with this responsibility,” he said.

Similarly, Daneji thanked the people of Kano Municipal for their support and confidence in him.
