BREAKING: Ex-Reps Lawmaker, Paschal Obi Dumps Labour Party For APC

Paschal Obi, a former member of the House of Representatives who represented Ideato North and South Federal Constituency, has defected from the Labour Party (LP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Obi was officially welcomed back to the APC fold by the Imo State APC executives led by Macdonald Ebere. The former lawmaker had earlier formalized his membership at the ward and local government levels.

Speaking at the event, Obi expressed his decision to rejoin the APC, citing the “massive infrastructural development efforts” of Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, as a key motivation.

“I am encouraged to rejoin APC because of Governor Uzodinma’s strides in infrastructural development. I also appreciate the excellent leadership of the State party executives, which has led to the APC’s impressive grassroots performance during the last local government election,” Obi stated.

He further assured the party’s leadership of his unwavering support and loyalty, pledging to contribute to the party’s continued growth.

In his remarks, APC State Chairman Macdonald Ebere welcomed Obi back to the party and commended him for his decision to return.

The event was attended by several political stakeholders from Ideato South, underscoring Obi’s influence in the region.

Paschal Obi has had a diverse political trajectory, having previously been a member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the Labour Party (LP) before returning to the APC.
