BREAKING: Niger’s 65,000 Farmers Get Farm Inputs From Firm

Farmers in Niger State have benefitted from an agricultural firm OneAcreFund, several bags of fertiliser and other farm inputs for this year’s farming season.
The 65,000 farmers were selected for the intervention in the farming season from Niger State out of 94,000 farmers selected from the three states of Niger, Kwara and Nasarawa states.
Speaking in an interview at Maikunkele Bosso local government area of Niger State, the system leader of OneAcreFund, Ade Adebayo explained that “ over 94000 farmers from the three states of Niger, Kwara and Nasarawa are beneficiaries this year, adding that 65,000 of the total number are from Niger State”.
“Total input distributed on credit to farmers in the 2025 season is 12.5 million metric tonnes, including fertilisers (NPK & Urea) and Maize seedlings”, he added.
Adebayo disclosed that one million tree seedlings will also be distributed to 461, 700 farmers to strengthen climate resilience initiative in the selected states.
The farmer’s representative, Danlami Kpotun, disclosed that Oneacrefund’s intervention would help boost their capacity to produce more food in this year’s farming season.
The director of Agricultural Services in the state Ministry of Agriculture, Adamu Garba Maikasua, appreciated the complementary role of the firm as the government would provide fertilisers and other inputs to farmers in the state.
He said that last year, the government flagged off the distribution of fertilisers at the farm centre in Minna while already making arrangements to provide fertilisers for the farming season.
