BREAKING: Historic promotions in Nigerian Navy as 146 officers Rget higher ranks

The Nigerian Navy Board, on Thursday, December 19, 2024, approved the promotion of 146 senior officers to various ranks.

Among those promoted is former navy spokesman, Commodore Suleiman Dahun, who has been elevated to the rank of Rear Admiral (2-star General).

The breakdown of the promotions reveals that 24 Commodores were promoted to Rear Admiral, 26 Captains to Commodore, and 96 Commanders to Captain.

Other promotions included moves within the ranks of Chief Superintendents, Superintendents, and Assistant Superintendents of Customs.

The newly promoted Rear Admirals include Ibrahim Mohammed-Katsina, Suleman Dahun, Gideon Jinjirim Kachim, Abolade Olanrele Ogunleye, Seminu Adisa Adepegba, Bob-Manuel Kokoete Effiong, Yusuf Sani Idris, Danjuma Mohammed Ndanusa, Ifeanyi Chidi Okpala, Mushin Yahaya Abba, and many others.

The newly promoted Commodores are Mohammed Ahmed Abdullahi, Kabir Umar Rabiu, Bashir Abubakar, Olayinka Ayodele Aliu, Uche Aneke, Temitope Adeshola Bamidele, and more.

The Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, congratulated the newly promoted officers and their families, urging them to remain loyal to the nation and rededicate themselves to their responsibilities under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
