Shock Revelation: Is Peter Obi Secretly Plotting to Oust Tinubu in 2027? Adebayo Drops Bombshell with Hidden Meetings!
Political Insider Reveals Quiet Plans to Challenge Tinubu in 2027

Prince Adewole Adebayo, the flagbearer for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Nigeria’s 2023 general elections, has dropped intriguing insights about the upcoming political landscape. Speaking publicly, he hinted that his counterpart from the Labour Party, Peter Obi, is engaged in confidential negotiations aimed at unseating President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
According to Adebayo, Tinubu’s reign may soon come to an end, suggesting that after 2027, he might have no option but to leave office and return to where he came from. The renowned international legal expert and media strategist emphasized that rumors circulating on social media about political coalitions should be taken with caution. Instead, he asserted that behind-the-scenes strategies are far more complex and actively unfolding away from public eyes.
During an interview on Channels Television, Adebayo stressed that the 2027 presidential contest will ultimately be decided by the Nigerian populace—not through party defections or propaganda campaigns. He criticized the current leadership, claiming Tinubu does not resonate with the Nigerian people and that any candidate backed by popular support, including himself, would likely defeat the incumbent.
He expressed confidence that Tinubu’s current trajectory indicates a likelihood of losing in 2027, implying that the president might eventually “return to where he came from.” Adebayo remarked that Nigerians have given Tinubu two more years to improve his governance. However, he pointed out that the president’s body language suggests he needs more than just prayers to succeed — real change is necessary.
Adebayo revealed that high-level party meetings are happening discreetly, involving key stakeholders who control political structures across Nigeria. He clarified that these negotiations aren’t for public consumption but are deeply rooted in ideological alignment, strategy, and mutual accommodation.
“Our understanding of politics is that there must be a unifying figure—a strong challenger to Tinubu in 2027,” he explained. “This candidate needs to unite various segments of the marginalized and discontented in society. Our party, the SDP, is engaging with outside groups and making significant progress.”
He dismissed superficial reports of political travels and photo ops, emphasizing that the real work is being done quietly. “This is serious groundwork—deep, strategic discussions that most Nigerians are unaware of. It’s not about casual meetups or social media snapshots,” he said.
Adebayo also acknowledged internal differences within the opposition but stressed that these would be resolved before a unified challenge is mounted. “If we don’t reconcile our differences early, we risk facing contradictions when the time comes to contest.”
He further criticized the ruling APC government, urging them to focus on serving Nigerians better rather than worrying about losing power. “They should be concerned about disappointing their people, not merely holding onto office.”
When asked if Peter Obi is part of this clandestine planning, Adebayo responded affirmatively. He praised Obi’s disciplined approach, noting that the former presidential candidate operates quietly, with strategic meetings that avoid media exposure. “Peter Obi is a focused, serious-minded individual who has his own plan. I respect his approach,” he shared.
Regarding the possibility of stepping aside for Obi in the interest of Nigeria, Adebayo noted that such decisions would be made at an appropriate time. “For now, I support what Obi is doing. We’re engaged in meaningful, honorable discussions, not trivial social media banter. Real politicking happens behind closed doors.”
