The Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has given chairmen of 13 local government areas in the state, 24 hours to pay all council staff their salaries or resign from office.

Francis Nwifuru also directed the chairmen of the 13 council areas to settle all outstanding pensions by Monday (today), December 23.

He issued the ultimatum on Sunday during the Elders and Widows’ Party organized by the state government at the Christian Ecumenical Centre in Abakaliki.
