The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment and posting of six new Commissioners of Police.
These appointments followed the recent promotions within the Nigeria Police Force, announced by the Commission last week.
In the new appointments, CP Shettima Jauro Mohammed has been assigned to Nasarawa State Command; Rabin Mohammed takes the role of CP at Kaduna State Command; and Adepoju Olugbenga Adewale has been posted to Rivers State Command.
Additionally, Mohammed Baba Azare is now CP of Akwa Ibom State Command; Wilfred Olatokunbo Afolabi has been appointed as CP for Ondo State Command; and Joseph Eribo, formerly CP of Akwa Ibom State, has transitioned to Ekiti State as the new CP of Ekiti State Command.
In a statement released on Tuesday by the Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, the Commission Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), urged the new appointees to view their roles as a call to serve the nation.
Argungu encouraged them to remain dedicated to the Government’s efforts in stabilising the country and ensuring that their states remain free from crime and criminality.
He indicated that the Commission would closely monitor their progress and support them in achieving success in their new positions.
The PSC Chairman called on the new Commissioners to repay the government’s trust by recommitting themselves to the service of their country.
