A spokesman of the World Council of Urhobo Professors, Prof. Pat Muoboghare, recently discussed the murders of 17 military soldiers in the Okuama community.
During an interview with Channels TV, Pat addressed a statement made by the Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa. He stated that General Musa made it known that the soldiers’ deaths were linked to oil bunkering activities and not a dispute over land boundaries between the Okuama and Okoloba communities
Muoboghare described General Musa as a man of integrity who understood and spoke the truth about the situation. He also said that the main suspect behind the killings, identified as Amagbein, was already known to the military. According to Muoboghare, Amagbein was later traced to Igbomotoru.
In Muoboghare’s words: “I will always say this Chief of Defense Staff is my friend for life. He knew the truth and told the truth maybe because he is a Christian. He knew the truth and told the truth that this thing is bunkering, it is not about boundary. And the kingpin Amagbein was known to the military and then the kingpin was traced to Igbomotoru”.
