BREAKING: Tinubu’s Gov’t Lacks Credible Individuals, I Don’t Want to Help Them, Says Sanusi

The embattled Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, has stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration lacks credible individuals capable of effectively presenting his reforms to the Nigerian public.

Speaking at the 2025 Gani Fawehinmi annual lecture, the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria expressed his disinterest in helping the Tinubu administration communicate the benefits of its reforms and policies to the people.

Sanusi remarked, “I have decided not to speak about the economy or the reforms, nor to clarify anything related to them. If I were to explain, it would only serve to benefit this government, and I do not wish to aid them.

“I choose not to support this government. While they are my friends, if they do not behave as friends, I will not act like one.”

Emphasising his intention not to fill the gap for this administration, Sanusi stated that he will continue to observe the actions of Tinubu and his entire cabinet from a distance.

“I watch their actions and see a lack of credible individuals who can effectively communicate their policies. However, I am not here to assist. I initially offered support, but I have now chosen to withdraw that,” he added.

Additionally, he commented on the challenges facing Nigerians today, describing them as a direct consequence of decades of irresponsible management.

“People were warned decades ago that if they persisted on this path, this is where they would end up. They chose not to listen,” the Emir concluded.
