‘We Have No One Else, Obasa Is Our Leader’

Loyalists of Mudashiru Obasa, the recently impeached Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, convened at his constituency office in Agege on Wednesday to show solidarity and reaffirm their support for his leadership.

Naija News gathered that the meeting, organized under the banner of the “Continuity Obasa Movement,” attracted members and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Agege Local Government Area.

Amid concerns about Obasa’s political future following his impeachment on Monday, party leaders at the meeting urged members to remain steadfast and unshaken by recent events.

They reassured attendees of their commitment to ensuring the former Speaker’s continued relevance in Lagos politics.

According to Punch, one of the party leaders called to speak,  Jubril Abdulkareem declared, “We have no one else, Obasa is our leader in Agege. We own Agege, No shaking.

“We, leaders, exco and members of APC in Agege and Orile Agege unanimously show our support for Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, who has contributed immensely to the development of the party in the community.

“We also pledge unflinching support for the national leader of the party, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Despite the recent incident, we still believe in his sense of judgment.”

Other leaders urged Obasa supporters to remain firm and united, adding that they remain members of the All Progressives Congress in Agege Local Government and will enjoy the goodies of being a party member.

“Obasa is our leader in Agege, let us not be bothered by the Speakership issue that happened. God will help resolve the issue of Speakership and we will be favoured by God’s grace. Obasa is our leader and we stand by him.

“We reiterate commitment, loyalty and support for Mudashiru Obasa,” one of the leaders of the meeting said.
