2

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Tuesday rejected an application by Omoyele Sowore, some other individuals and organisations who applied to observe the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Justice James Omotosho in his ruling pruned the list of applicants who indicated interest in being present during Kanu’s trial.

On the list, over 30 individuals and organisations including Sowore had applied to appear in court as observers.

However, the court only approved 20 people who would be allowed entrance into the courtroom as observers.

Those on the approved list, include close family members of the defendant.

The court also warned that all those who will be present as observers must be seated before 9 am.
