In a concerted effort to revitalise the nation’s economy, the Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to cultivating strategic global mining partnerships that will drive economic growth, attract investment, and foster innovation.

This announcement was made in a statement issued yesterday and signed by Mohammed Manga, the Director of Information and Public Relations.

Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, the Honourable Minister of State for Finance, spearheaded Nigeria’s participation at the Future Minerals Forum (FMF) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where she noted the nation’s abundant resource wealth and reiterated the country’s readiness to collaborate with international partners.

Highlighting Nigeria’s rich resource base, coupled with a renewed emphasis on innovation, sustainability, and investment, Uzoka-Anite stated: “We are positioning Nigeria as a leader in the global minerals and energy landscape. We invite global investors to partner with us as we unlock the immense opportunities in these sectors.”

The Minister, who was accompanied by the Honourable Minister of Solid Minerals, Mr. Dele Alake, emphasised that the Future Minerals Forum exemplified Nigeria’s openness to business.

The forum, which is recognised as the world’s leading platform for shaping the future of minerals, saw participation from over 14,000 delegates from 178 countries, including government leaders, industry experts, and innovators.

The Nigerian delegation’s involvement underscored the country’s vast resource potential and highlighted the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Administration’s commitment to partnering with global players in mining, energy, and beyond, to stimulate economic growth in line with its Renewed Hope Agenda.

The Future Minerals Forum marked a key milestone in Nigeria’s pursuit of economic growth through mining partnerships.

During the forum, the Minister engaged in strategic discussions with the Saudi Governor for the General Authority for Foreign Trade, paid a courtesy visit to the Saudi Vice Minister for Finance, and held productive meetings with industry leaders at the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce, positioning Nigeria’s mining sector as an attractive investment destination.

Additionally, a collaborative session with the Saudi Ministry of Energy and prominent stakeholders, including Mr. Wale Tinubu, explored partnership opportunities in energy and mining, further establishing Nigeria’s status as a partner of choice.

These discussions paved the way for stronger economic ties between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, focusing on opportunities in energy and mining. Nigeria’s potential as a key partner was reinforced, with emphasis on the untapped value of the country’s resources.

The Federal Government remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering partnerships that promote investment, innovation, and collaboration. It continues to extend an invitation to global investors to join Nigeria in unlocking the vast opportunities within the mining sector
