BREAKING: Novak Djokovic, Aryna Sabalenka Enter Semi-finals

Novak Djokovic delivered an impressive performance, executing a remarkable comeback to defeat Carlos Alcaraz and secure a place in the Australian Open semi-finals.

Novak Djokovic, 37, demonstrated resilience, overcoming an injury to win the match 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 against the 21-year-old Spanish player.

Despite limping due to a problem in his upper left leg during the first set, Djokovic sought treatment off-court and returned with renewed vigour, allowing him to regain control of the match.

Djokovic’s aggressive play turned the tide in his favour, while Alcaraz, the third seed, struggled to regain momentum in what was an entertaining battle lasting three hours and 38 minutes.

Meanwhile, Aryna Sabalenka displayed tenacity in her match against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, securing her spot in the Australian Open semi-finals as she seeks to win a third consecutive title.

The world number one started strong but faced challenges as Pavlyuchenkova took the second set and broke early in the decider. Nevertheless, Sabalenka remained composed and fought back to achieve a hard-fought 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 victory.

This marks the first time Sabalenka has dropped a set at the Australian Open since her triumph in 2023 final against Elena Rybakina.

Looking ahead, she expressed excitement about facing her friend Paula Badosa in the semi-finals after Badosa’s stunning victory over third seed Coco Gauff earlier in the day.
