BREAKING: Civilian JTF leader killed in fresh Borno explosion

The leader of the Civilian Joint Task Force in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State have been killed in a bonb blast that rocked the area.

It was gathered that Abba Godori, the vice chairman of the Kawuri unit of the civilian JTF was killed in the explosion that occurred on Tuesday, January 21.

Speaking under anonymity, a source within the community told Punch that Godari stepped on the bomb which was suspected to have been planted by the terrorists.

The source said, “Mr Godori was on patrol when he stepped on the bomb. He was following the footsteps of the terrorists until he stepped on the bomb.

However, the police in the state said it was yet to be briefed on any incident in the community.

The spokesperson for the Borno State police command, Nahum Daso said, “Personally, I am yet to get any information on that. Before nightfall, I would have ascertained what happened there.”
