Renowned Malian singer Rokia Traore is set to be released from custody in Belgium following an agreement reached with her ex-partner over a long-standing child custody dispute, her lawyers confirmed on Wednesday.
Traore had been held in Belgium since November, after her extradition from Italy, to serve an outstanding two-year prison sentence related to the custody case.
The resolution of the dispute marks a significant development in the singer’s legal battle, paving the way for her release.
