Former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, who is currently facing trial for an alleged N110 billion fraud, was recently seen visiting the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, at his residence in Abuja.
The meeting took place on Thursday afternoon, with Bello accompanied by Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, his successor.
The visit was made public by Lere Olayinka, the senior special assistant on public communication and social media to the FCT Minister.
Olayinka shared pictures of the meeting on his X (formerly Twitter) account, stating, “Former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, and his successor, Usman Ododo, visited the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in his Abuja residence today.”
Bello has been under scrutiny by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for his alleged involvement in mismanaging public funds. In November 2024, the EFCC filed fresh charges against him, accusing him of a N110 billion fraud.
This is in addition to earlier charges involving 19 counts of money laundering amounting to over N80 billion, which also implicated his nephew, Ali Bello, along with Dauda Suliman and Abdulsalam Hudu.
