BREAKING: ‘Chelsea To Swap Christopher Nkunku For Alejandro Garnacho’

Manchester United and Chelsea are in discussions regarding a potential swap deal that could see Alejandro Garnacho exchanged for Christopher Nkunku.

This development follows initial conversations about separate transfer arrangements that took place at the end of December.

The update comes from renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who shared insights on his X account during the weekend. He indicated that while the idea of a swap deal might still be on the table for both clubs within this January transfer window, discussions are not yet concrete, advanced, or close to fruition.

Romano noted, “Manchester United and Chelsea had initial talks about potential separate deals for Nkunku and Garnacho at the end of December. As @RobDawsonESPN reported today, it could still be an idea for the two clubs, but NOT concrete, close, or advanced at this stage.”

From Garnacho’s perspective, reports suggest he has a preference for a move to Chelsea over a potential transfer to Napoli. TyC Sport has indicated this preference, especially considering that Napoli had previously attempted to secure the 20-year-old winger but had their bid turned down by Manchester United, who valued Garnacho at around £70 million.

Furthermore, significant activity surrounds the transfer dynamic; Garnacho’s representatives were spotted at Stamford Bridge during Chelsea’s 3-1 victory against Wolves, which indicates possible interest in the move.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have continued their dialogue with Napoli, and recent reports from Italy suggest that United have recalibrated their expectations, lowering their asking price for Garnacho to €65 million.
