Nurses are advised by the top Northern governor to avoid Japan syndrome.

The governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, has urged nurses in the state to desist from leaving the country in search of greener pastures in foreign nations.

Fintiri while speaking at the national president of the Fellowship of Christian Nurses, Nigeria meeting expressed concern over the increase in the emigration of health professionals from Nigeria popularly known as as Japa.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Edgar Sunday, the governor urged the nurses to remain dedicated to their profession and focus on saving the lives of residents of the state.

Stating that nurses are an integral part of the healthcare profession and community, Fintiri assured his administration’s commitment to upgrading infrastructure in healthcare.
