BREAKING: Super Eagles’ Bruno Onyemaechi Set To Join Olympiacos

Super Eagles of Nigeria and Boavista of Portugal defender, Bruno Onyemaechi is set to finalize his permanent transfer to the Greek Super League club Olympiacos on Monday.

Recall that Naija News reported earlier in the month that the Portuguese club was ready to sell Bruno Onyemaechi to any suitor willing to pay at least €6 million for his services.

Onyemaechi, 25, arrived in Greece on Thursday, initiating his journey with Olympiacos, and completed his medical examination on Friday, thereby clearing one of the final hurdles before the transfer can be officially sealed.

Following these procedures, Onyemaechi is expected to sign a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Greek side, which underscores the club’s commitment to securing his services for the foreseeable future.

As part of the agreement, Olympiacos will pay a transfer fee of €2.5 million to Portuguese club Boavista, where Onyemaechi has been showcasing his talents.

Note that the Nigerian left-back joined Boavista on loan from another Portuguese outfit, CD Feirense, in 2022, and his performances led to the loan becoming a permanent deal the following season.

During his time with Boavista, Onyemaechi has made significant contributions on the pitch, netting three goals and providing one assist over 18 league appearances this season, indicating his impact as both a defender and an attacker from the back.
