Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has denied rumours that he plans to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor’s denial comes following the circulation of a flex banner featuring his image on social media, leading to suggestions about a switch to the APC
Mutfwang attributed the rumours to the machinations of his political detractors and mischief makers seeking to sow discord between him and the PDP leadership.
In a statement issued by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, the governor said he is committed to the PDP and its values.
“I remain a committed member of the PDP and firmly uphold the values of the party and trust placed on me by the people of Plateau,” Mutfwang stated. “The rumour that I’m contemplating leaving the PDP for the APC is entirely false. This fabricated story is the work of those who do not wish Plateau well.”
