BREAKING: Peter Obi Issues Stern ‘Warning’ To Cleric After Making N20M Donation to Nursing School

The 2023 presidential candidate for the Labour Party, Peter Obi has declined the move by the leadership of the Shanahan College of Nursing Sciences, Nsukka to name its hall after him.

The proposal was tabled before Obi after he made a N20 million cash donation for the school’s ongoing infrastructural development.

Reverend Father Kelvin Caesar, the institution’s manager had pleaded with the former governor of Anambra State to permit the school name the hall after him.

Ceasar had announced to the audience while Obi presented the N20 million cheque that the construction of the hall was solely sponsored by the former governor.

He further stated that following the donation, the hall would be named after Obi.

However, in a swift move, Obi declined the honour by Ceasar.

He said that he has also made donations to over 50 institutions across the country and it would be improper for all of them to be named after him.

He said, “I do it to serve humanity. The reason God blesses us with resources is to use them to improve the lives of others and not for self-glorification”.

He further stated that his contributions to the improvement of education, healthcare and alleviation of poverty is stemmed from his desire to secure a better future for Nigerian children.

He further assured that he would be back to the school for more.

“I will return”, he said.
