Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, representing Ondo South in the National Assembly, has stated that several governors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other opposition parties are planning to switch to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ibrahim made this assertion while responding to questions on Channels Television.
He noted that many individuals have already defected to the APC, with more expected in the coming weeks.
When asked if this trend is beneficial for the APC and the Tinubu administration, especially in light of internal criticisms, the senator remarked, “That’s a one-sided argument. What about those from the PDP who are joining us?
“You seem to have overlooked that. You have entirely ignored the fact that individuals are coming from the PDP to join our ranks. Take Wike, for instance.
“Sure, he identifies as a PDP member, but he is serving in the APC government. Consider how many individuals like him have switched over and how many governors are in the process of joining the APC.
“How many of them are planning to come? How many senators have recently left and are intending to join? Some governors are indeed preparing to join the APC; however, I’d prefer not to name them to avoid causing any embarrassment.
“But I assure you, the next time I appear on this programme, I will confirm that governors will have crossed over to the APC.”
