BREAKING: N150bn: El-Rufai criticizes Kaduna Gov over alleged federal funds favoritism

The former governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has strongly criticized his successor, Senator Uba Sani, accusing him of excessive loyalty to President Bola Tinubu due to financial incentives.

In a statement shared on his verified Facebook page, El-Rufai referenced a quote from the popular British TV series Sherlock Holmes before addressing his concerns about Governor Sani’s recent remarks.

His reaction came in response to a television interview in which Governor Sani praised President Tinubu’s administration and dismissed any political coalition aimed at challenging the government in the 2027 elections.

El-Rufai attributed the governor’s stance to what he described as selective financial support amounting to over N150 billion, provided to Kaduna State by the federal government over the past 18 months.

Expressing his concerns under the hashtag #ConcernedKadunaCitizen, El-Rufai wrote:

“Every day I see this governor embarrassingly and sycophantically rambling, I used to wonder why? However, confirming that Federal Government ‘reimbursements, interventions and grants’ in excess of N150bn have been given selectively to Kaduna by Tinubu, in the last 18 months, now explains everything.”

He further stated that while defending Tinubu’s administration may be expected under certain circumstances, the people of Kaduna State will ultimately make their judgment at the appropriate time.

El-Rufai’s remarks have added another layer to the ongoing political debate in Kaduna State, highlighting tensions within the ruling political structure as Nigeria heads toward future elections.
