BREAKING: Gombe Police declare curfew over insecurity

The Gombe State Police Command has announced a movement restriction from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m., starting February 7, 2025.

This decision follows reports of rising security threats in the state.

Authorities stated that the measure aims to address potential risks and ensure public safety.

Residents are urged to comply, as violations will not be tolerated.

Parents and guardians have been advised to caution their children.

The police reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and called for public cooperation to make the state safer.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, said, “Intelligence reports inundating the Gombe State Police Command point to the rising threats to the safety and security of the citizens in the State.

“The Command has resolved to curb the menace of these threats and placed restrictions on movements between the hours of 12am to 5am starting from 7th February 2025.

“The Command prioritised the safety and security of the citizens and urged members of the public to cooperate with the police in making the state a safe place to thrive.

“The Command also advised the parents/guardians to caution their wards, as the police will not tolerate any form of violation of this restriction”.
