BREAKING: NNPP ratifies Kwankwaso’s expulsion, asks ex-governor to exit or ‘face the consequences’

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has held its national convention, officially ratifying the expulsion of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Buba Galadima, and the entire Kwankwassiya faction.

Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, newly elected National Chairman Dr. Agbo Major reaffirmed the party’s adherence to a court ruling directing INEC to recognize the Board of Trustees led by Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam.

The convention confirmed all congresses held from the ward to zonal levels and rejected the proposed new party logo, reverting to the original one.

Dr. Agbo urged Kwankwaso loyalists seeking to destabilize the party to exit peacefully rather than cause unrest.

The party also conducted a financial review to strengthen its internal structures and expressed confidence that INEC would update its records to reflect the leadership changes.

Dr. Agbo clarified that while NNPP remains open to alliances in the interest of Nigerians, but stated that the party is currently not in talks with any political group.

He said, “The party conducted a financial review to strengthen internal structures and expressed confidence that INEC would update its records, to reflect the leadership changes as directed by the court.

“As a party, we are not averse to having any form of understanding with any other political party, especially if it is in the interest of the Nigerian electorate.

“Alternatively, for now, we are not in any form of talks with any political party, that is why we have always been telling the media that whoever is talking to you as a leader, speaking on behalf of NNPP should be confirmed from the party’s secretariat if there is any such understanding at all.

“For now, we are not in touch with anybody, but when we get to that bridge, we will design how to proceed; all will be in the interest of Nigerians.

“Our party, the NNPP, remains united and focused as we prepare for 2027.”
