A pastor of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in Lubo community, Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State, Buba Galadima has been killed by some gunmen.
The gunmen suspected to be armed robbers were said to have invaded the cleric’s residence at about 1 am on Sunday, February 9, 2025.
Sources within the community said the pastor was shot in his back while he made an effort to escape the gunmen.
The State’s Police Command spokesperson, Buhari Abdullahi said the incident is not a case of bandits’ attack but that of armed robbery.
According to Abdullahi, the suspected robbers invaded the clerics house and he was shot while their attempted to rob him.
He said, “The issue is a robbery because they entered into the house at night. Maybe they attempted to rob him, but unfortunately, from the way he was shot at the back, it seems he was trying to escape.
In addition, the commissioner of police in Gombe, Bello Yahaya, has also visited the hospital where Galadima’s body was deposited.
Yahaya further deployed a special squad of police officers to the area to track down the perpetrators or the crime.
