A chairmanship aspirant for Badagry West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State, Princess Damilola Sonayon James, has reiterated the importance of inclusive leadership in driving grassroots development.
Speaking at a community mobilisation rally in Badagry West, Lagos with the theme; “New Vision, New Plan, New Direction,” James emphasised that leadership must align with the people’s aspirations rather than impose top-down decisions.
She said, “Our people deserve visionary leadership—one that listens, collaborates, and builds together. Development thrives when everyone is carried along.”
A community leader, Mr. Peter Lucas, lauded James’ agenda, particularly her focus on youth empowerment, describing it as a catalyst for progress in the LCDA.
“Princess James understands Badagry West’s strength lies in its vibrant youth. Her plans for vocational training centres, entrepreneurship hubs, and mentorship programmes aim to tackle unemployment and foster self-reliance.”
Women’s empowerment also ranks high on her development blueprint. Drawing from her experience with the Lagos State Ministry of Wealth Creation and the Power Woman Network, James plans to support women-owned businesses through targeted initiatives in financial literacy and access to microfinance,”he said. James also assured residents of her commitment to transformative governance rooted in accountability, inclusion, and sustainable development.
