Former House of Reps Member, State Party Executives Dump PDP for APC

A former member of the House of Representatives, Kabiru Classic has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Confirming his defection, the Zamfara State chapter of the APC said on Thursday that the lawmaker represented Anka/Talata Mafara Federal Constituency between 2019 and 2023 under the umbrella of the PDP.

Speaking to journalists in Gusau, Zamfara State’s capital city, the APC publicity secretary in the state, Yusuf Idris said the former lawmaker defected from the PDP alongside all the party executives in Talata Mafara LGA.

In addition, the publicity secretary noted that 10 out of the 11 PDP Ward chairmen in the area also defected from the PDP to APC.

Described as a seasoned politician, the former lawmaker and other defectors were received by the Zamfara state APC Chairman, Tukur Danfulani and the chairman of the Abdul’aziz Yari Political Organisation, Lawal Liman.

Idris noted, “This is a great development for our party, just recently the serving Rep. member, Sulaiman Abubakar-Gummi (Gummi/Bukkuyum Constituency) also moved to the APC over an alleged crisis in the state PDP chapter.

“This is an indication that the PDP leadership in Zamfara has no internal democracy,” Idris said.
