I am leaving Edo state much better than I met it

Governor Godwin Obaseki has declared that he is leaving Edo state better than he met it.

The governor made the remarks while hosting the last State Security Council Meeting of his administration at Government House, Benin.

Writing on his social media pages, the governor stated: “During the last State Security Council Meeting of my administration, I commended the people and various security agencies for their invaluable support in addressing insecurity and safeguarding lives and property across the State.

“The collaboration among the different agencies contributed significantly to making Edo secure for all residents. Much of our administration’s success in security can be attributed to this vital partnership.

“Our focus on collaboration and the adoption of technology have enabled us to make substantial progress in security. This stable environment has fostered domestic growth and attracted investor interest to the State.

“Security-wise, as governor, I am leaving Edo much better than I met it. My advice to the incoming administration is to prioritise security above politics, as our citizens deserve a safe and secure environment.”
