The Benue State Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, CP Emenari Ifeanyi, has deployed Tactical Commanders to troubled communities in Benue with a charge on them to strategise and confront security challenges bedevilling communities.
This is even as the CP warned officers against engaging in any unprofessional conduct that will give the Nigeria Police Force a bad name and promised to reward police officers who are professional in carrying out their duties.
The CP, who spoke through the command Public Relations Officer Catherine Anene after an emergency meeting he held with Senior Police Officers, Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and DPOs at the Police Officers Mess in Makurdi, declared zero tolerance for corruption and all forms of acts that will give the force a bad name.
He encouraged commanders to work with other quasi-security outfits within their AOR, emphasising the need for community policing, a policing style that involves all hands.
She quoted the CP as declaring his willingness to collaborate with all security agencies, quasi-security agencies, traditional rulers, community leaders, and everyone interested in securing the state to end insecurity in Benue. Our correspondent reports that CP Ifeanyi reported to the State about a week ago.
