Aloy Ejimakor, the Lead Counsel to incarcerated leader of Igbo separatist group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has cried out over the inability of his client’s legal team and family visiting him after they were allegedly denied access by the Department of State Services (DSS) on Wednesday.
Ejimakor who raised the alarm in a post he shared on X, said the legal team and some members of Kanu’s family had gone on a routine visit to the Biafran agitator who is being detained at the DSS facility in Abuja but were allegedly prevented from seeing him by operatives of the agency.
According to Ejimakor, the legal team, accompanied by some of Kanu’s family members and a former Abia State House of Assembly member, was allegedly barred from seeing the IPOB leader at the DSS facility.
He further claimed that access to Kanu was denied despite submitting a visitation request to the DSS on Tuesday ahead of their scheduled Wednesday visit.
“This flagrant violation of the Nigerian Constitution and a subsisting Court order will not stand,” he added.
