It was meant to be an ordinary flight from Lagos to Port Harcourt, but the journey ended in handcuffs for one passenger.
Air Peace confirmed on Thursday that a man was caught red-handed with stolen items onboard Flight P47190 on February 19, 2025. Upon landing at Port Harcourt International Airport, a thorough search led to the shocking discovery; he was in possession of missing belongings reported by fellow passengers.
The airline wasted no time. “The suspect was immediately handed over to airport police for further investigation,” said Ejike Ndiulo, Head of Corporate Communications for Air Peace.
“Cabin crew members have been instructed to intensify vigilance throughout flights, while frequent announcements will educate passengers on securing their belongings and reporting any suspicious activity,” the airline stated.
In a decisive move, Air Peace has blacklisted the suspect, barring him from flying with the airline in the future.
“We are taking a firm stance against such criminal acts,” the statement continued. “This reinforces our zero-tolerance policy for any misconduct that compromises the safety and comfort of passengers”, the airline stated.
