A gender activist, Freda Irabor has described the continued discrimination against female gender as unacceptable and absurd just as she called for a holistic approach to end the injustice.
Freda traced the origin of gender inequality to the colonial era which she said contributed to the limitation and injustice against the women in Nigeria. She also attributed deep seated cultural and religious narratives and beliefs to the negative gender identity and bias against women.
The activist noted that gender equality is not just a women’s issue, but a fight for humanity and justice

She said the book is an unflinching examination of the struggles of Nigerian women—from the girl child denied an education to the ambitious woman fighting for space in male-dominated politics and business.
Freda said it would be practically impossible for the country’s development and growth while half its population remains unheard.
According to her “ This book is a call to action an urgent demand for equality, justice, and the recognition that the audacity to challenge patriarchy is not just necessary, but inevitable.
“ But this is not just a book about oppression—it is a book about power. It tells the stories of women who have defied the odds, who have dared to rise despite a system designed to keep them down. It is a manifesto for the girl child who dares to dream beyond societal limitations and for a future where gender does not determine destiny”
