BREAKING: CDS Musa boosting military effectiveness with high-impact campaigns — Governance Coalition

Coalition of Good Governance in Nigeria (CGGN) has commended the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, for his leadership in strengthening the country’s security architecture through high-impact military operations.

The group gave the commendation in a statement jointly signed by its National Coordinator, Barrister Mohammad Ibrahim Kolo; Director of Mobilization, Hon. Hussieni Modibbo; Deputy Coordinator & Director of Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Victor Mathew Bobai; General Secretary, Dr. Adeosun Gbenga; Director of Finance, Alhaji Bello Abubakar Usman; Ex-Officio, Madam Eneh George; Director of Women, Mrs. Daniel Blessing; and Director of Organization, Mal Ibrahim Aminu Shugaba.

According to them, the Defence Chief has significantly enhanced the military’s operational capacity through upgraded surveillance technology, improved intelligence gathering, and strategic counterterrorism initiatives.

The group noted that these efforts have boosted national security and disrupted insurgent activities across the country, describing his tenure as a turning point in Nigeria’s fight against asymmetric warfare and other security threats.

“CDS Musa’s tenure has redefined Nigeria’s military effectiveness, particularly in countering asymmetric threats. His deployment of advanced surveillance technology, including drones and cyber intelligence, has played a pivotal role in tracking and neutralizing terrorist networks,” the statement read.

The coalition further emphasised that General Musa’s leadership reflects true patriotism, adding that he has proven that genuine defenders of national sovereignty still exist within Nigeria’s defense forces.

“Despite facing numerous challenges, General Musa has remained resolute in his mission to safeguard Nigeria’s territorial integrity.

“His strategic approach to military operations, coupled with enhanced collaboration among security agencies, has yielded remarkable successes in the fight against terrorism and insurgency,” the group stated.

The CGGN also highlighted recent military breakthroughs under General Musa’s leadership, including the intensified crackdown on terrorist hideouts, interception of illicit arms shipments, and the rescue of abducted victims, including Chibok schoolgirls.

While acknowledging the complexities of Nigeria’s security challenges, the coalition urged all stakeholders to support the ongoing efforts of the military, stressing that national security should remain a collective responsibility.

They called on the federal government to provide additional resources to the armed forces to sustain the momentum in the war against terrorism.

“Nigeria’s security forces, under the leadership of General Musa, have demonstrated unwavering dedication to protecting lives and property.

“It is imperative for the government and citizens to rally behind these efforts to ensure lasting peace and stability,” the group added.
