
The Ijaw Youth Consultative Forum has commended President Bola Tinubu for the increased oil and gas production and improved security in the Niger Delta.
The youths also praised the President for the economic growth in the Niger Delta and the increased investment in infrastructure and human capital development.
In a statement on Monday, the President of the Forum, Ebizimor Raphael said Tinubu’s agenda for the Niger Delta region has yielded significant results, advancing peace, stability, and economic growth.
He added that the initiatives and achievements of the Tinubu administration, particularly through the Presidential Amnesty Programme, have empowered Niger Deltans and promoted inclusive development.
The statement reads, “The Niger Delta region, being the hub of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, plays a vital role in the country’s economic growth.
“Recently, Nigeria’s oil and gas production has witnessed a notable increase, reaching 2 million barrels per day. This achievement can be attributed to President Bola Tinubu’s strategic approach to addressing the region’s longstanding challenges.
“President Tinubu’s administration has made significant strides in advancing peace and stability in the Niger Delta region. His agenda for the region is built on a multifaceted approach that addresses the root causes of unrest and promotes inclusive development.
“The administration has taken firm steps to combat these illegal activities, ensuring a safer and more secure environment for oil production.
“President Tinubu’s administration has fostered inclusive community engagements through appointed representatives, tackling historical grievances surrounding marginalization and limited economic opportunities.
“The initiatives and achievements of President Tinubu’s administration have contributed to a new era of stability in the Niger Delta region. The region has witnessed oil and gas production increase to 2 million barrels per day.
“The region has experienced improved security, with reduced incidents of pipeline vandalism and oil theft. The Niger Delta region has witnessed economic growth, with increased investment in infrastructure and human capital development.”
