Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communications, Daniel Bwala has weighed in on the comments made about the President by immediate past governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai during an interview session on Arise Television on Monday night.
In the controversial interview, the former FCT Minister alleged that it was Tinubu who publicly begged him to join his administration as a cabinet minister but later changed his mind and dropped his nomination.
“The president begged me publicly to come and serve in his government; I had my plans and I told President Tinubu from day one when he asked me to support him, I said I would but I don’t want anything, because politics in Nigeria is always about what do I get for giving you support?” El-Rufai said, among other things.
He also alluded that going by the way the president is going about governance, he was unsure if he would support his re-election bid in 2027.
However, while reacting to the comments made by El-Rufai in the interview, Bwala, in a post on his X handle on Tuesday, rubbished the claims, saying the former Kaduna governor only made jumbles of incoherent and disorganized statements aimed at distorting the truth.
“@elrufai Mallam El-Rufai’s interview on Arise news were full of word salad; jumbles of incoherent and disorganized statements and responses aimed at distorting the truth in other to re-shape history and patterns,” Bwala wrote.
“His philosophy is; if it is not about him, then everybody must be a victim of his ambition. Believe him at your own peril,” he added.
This is coming after the National SeCuritiba Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu and former Kaduna senator, Shehu Sani had both castigated El-Rufai for the same interview comments.
