BREAKING: “Grievance-driven commentaries will not to be taken seriously”

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s recent criticisms of the party’s leadership, labelling them as grievance-driven and unworthy of serious attention.

El-Rufai was notably absent from the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, amid growing internal tensions.

He has been vocal in his discontent, particularly criticizing the party’s failure to hold an NEC meeting for 18 months and taking swipes at President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, announced that the NEC had ratified the zoning of the party’s chairmanship to the North-West and formed a seven-member committee led by Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, to expand party membership.

Morka dismissed El-Rufai’s claims, insisting that all party structures remain functional.

His words: “There is a difference between party men and those who speak out of grievance.

“Grievance-driven commentaries are not to be taken seriously. It is clear that the former governor has an axe to grind.”

He urged El-Rufai to conduct himself in a manner befitting his status as a former governor and minister, warning that continued attacks on the party could invite responses.

“El-Rufai is just one person. He is a respected figure, but my advice to him is to speak in a way that reflects his status. Otherwise, if he continues to engage, people have a right to reply,” Morka added.
