
Abu Radde, a notorious bandit known to operate in Katsina State has surrendered to troops of the Nigerian Military and other security agencies.
As part of a peace accord with authorities in Katsina, Radde also released 10 individuals who were kidnapped by his gang.
According to a security and conflict analyst, Zagzola Makama, the bandit surrendered alongside his fighters to authorities.
Makama noted that the bandit kingpin alongside others including – Audu Lankai, Ori, Gila, Adamu Gurbi, Nawagini, Umar Black, Margyal, and Aloda – had approached security officials seeking dialogue and reconciliation through non-kinetic means.
The analyst stated that this incident took place at the Kwari Village Primary School in Jibia Local Government Area.
Local authorities, at the meeting, admonished the bandits to lay down their arms and embrace peace.
He said more than two AK-47 rifles were handed over to the military as a demonstration of their commitment to peace.
Following the meeting, the bandits promised to release more victims who were held captive and assured that they would no longer attack communities within the LGA.
