BREAKING: Husband Beats Wife to Death over Ramadan Food

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 50-year-old man, Alhaji Nuru Isah, for allegedly striking his wife, Wasila Abdullahi, to death with a cane.

The incident occurred near Government Girls College in the Fadamam Mada Area of Bauchi.

According to a statement from the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Ahmed Wakil, “On March 1, 2025, at approximately 11:30 PM, the Bauchi State Police Command was alerted to a reported case of culpable homicide near Government Girls College, Fadamam Mada Area, Bauchi.

“This tragic event stemmed from a dispute between Alhaji Nuru Isah, a 50-year-old businessman at Central Market, Bauchi, and his second wife, 24-year-old Wasila Abdullahi, concerning the handling of food ingredients and fruits intended for breaking the Ramadan fast, which escalated into a violent altercation.”

Wakil reported that after striking his wife with the cane, she collapsed and was later taken to ATBU Teaching Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed her death.

He stated that the Bauchi State Police Command has launched a thorough investigation into the incident, and the suspect is currently in custody.

Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Muhammad, has assured the public that ensuring justice in this case remains a top priority for the command.
