BREAKING: Gov Bago dedicates Sun Newspaper award to Nigerian farmers

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has dedicated his Sun Newspaper 2024 Governor of the Year Award in Agriculture to all farmers across Nigeria.

The governor, popularly known as the “Farmer Governor,” received the award in Lagos and described it as an honour not just for himself but for the people of Niger State and every farmer in the country.

Expressing gratitude to The Sun Publishing Limited, Bago commended the media organization for recognizing his contributions to agriculture. He reassured the people of his unwavering commitment to achieving food security for the nation.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the occasion and National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, congratulated all the awardees, noting that they had distinguished themselves in their respective fields.

He also emphasized the crucial role of journalism in Nigeria’s development, urging media professionals to focus on developmental journalism while upholding ethical standards.

Other recipients of the prestigious awards included the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume; Governors Ahmad Aliyu (Sokoto), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), and Ahmed Usman Ododo (Kogi).

Others honored were Senator Ali Ndume, Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo, the Wife of Ebonyi State Governor, Mrs. Mary-Maudline Nwifuru, and the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku.
